Twin Cities kittens to take aquarium field trip for Adopt a Cat Month
Sea Life creatures at Mall of America were joined by some land-loving friends Wednesday as Bitty Kitty Brigade took a dozen kittens on an aquarium field trip.
Bitty Kitty Brigade, which rescues and fosters neonatal kittens in the Twin Cities, kicked off Adopt a Cat Month at Sea Life Aquarium.
The 6-8-week-old kittens were able to explore the aquarium without members of the public from 9-10 a.m. The aquarium then opened to the public at 11 a.m.
American Humane, which celebrates the month every June, says large litters of kittens are often born and left in shelters this time of year.
Bitty Kitty Brigade is one organization helping abandoned kittens by caring for 0-6-week-old kittens, weaning them and connecting them to foster homes until they reach adoption age.
The rescue also traps and sterilizes local cats to end the cycle of unwanted pets, according to its website.
