Transition back to classroom starts Monday for Minneapolis students
Hundreds of Minneapolis students are heading to the classroom Monday — some for the first time.
In-person learning begins for some Pre-K and kindergarten students on Monday, and students in first and second grades are expected to return on Wednesday. Third through fifth grades return on Feb. 22.
The school district will have to navigate first-day jitters alongside public health guidelines. The past week has been spent preparing buildings and staff for the grand return.
A judge previously ruled Minneapolis Public Schools can’t require staff to return to work if they’ve applied for an accommodation to work from home. A court hearing between the district and the teachers union in scheduled for Tuesday.
