Transit service at I-35W/Lake Street Station to begin Thursday

Some transit services to and from the Interstate 35W and Lake Street Station will begin on Thursday.

Metro Transit postponed a grand opening event scheduled for Monday after a deadly weekend crash. Inspections on the building were also completed after the crash.

According to Metro Transit, starting Thursday, the following routes will serve the station:

  • Metro Transit routes 21, 27, 535, 553, 578, and 597.
  • SouthWest Transit routes 600 and 695.
  • Minnesota Valley Transit Authority express routes 460, 464, 465, 470, 472, 475, 476, 477, and 478 will begin serving the I-35W level on Nov. 20.

Orange Line service at the station won’t begin until Dec. 4.
