Train Days returning to Union Depot next month
Train Days is set to return next month as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
The event will take place at Union Depot in St. Paul on June 5-6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Organizers say several unique pieces of train equipment will be on site, including eight rail cars and five locomotives. Additionally, a historic 4,300 horsepower Electro-Motive Canadian Pacific No. 6644 diesel engine will be making an appearance, according to organizers.
Amtrak, Union Pacific, Friends of the 261, and Twin Cities and Western will all have equipment at the event, and several vendors will also be at Union Depot.
The festivities include educational aspects, a video mini-series, a historic train photography exhibit and a building-wide scavenger hunt. Concessions are also planned.
Despite some COVID-19 restrictions being lifted, Union Depot will still have health and safety protocols in place.
