Teen killed in south Minneapolis gunfight identified; other shooter still hospitalized
A 17-year-old boy who died in a shootout Tuesday in Minneapolis has been identified as Angelo Alexander Hill of Brooklyn Park.
Hill died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Minneapolis police say Hill and a 16-year-old boy had gotten into an argument Tuesday evening in the lobby of an apartment building at 18th Street and Nicollet Avenue. The two teens ended up opening fire on each other, and both were shot.
Both teens were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and Hill was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Police said the other teen was still in the hospital as of Thursday afternoon.
Hill’s death is being investigated as the 45th homicide in Minneapolis this year.
Police are still investigating the case.
