Teen hit by train, hospitalized in Minneapolis

A 17-year-old is in the hospital after he was hit by a train Tuesday afternoon in Minneapolis.

The Minneapolis Fire Department said crews were called to 18½ Avenue Northeast and Monroe Street Northeast at about 3:44 p.m. on a report of a male hit by a train.

At the scene, crews found a 17-year-old with a serious ankle and lower leg injury.

The boy was taken to a hospital for treatment.

No other information was immediately available.
