Teen critically injured after stolen vehicle crashes, flips in St. Paul
A teenager was critically injured after a stolen vehicle crashed in St. Paul Monday night.
According to the St. Paul Police Department, officers responded to a crash near the intersection of Rose Avenue East and Sylvan Street just after 5 p.m. Monday.
According to an initial investigation, the stolen vehicle initially crashed at Rice Street and Ivy Avenue West, it then drove away and crashed into a light pole on the southwest corner of Rose Avenue East and Sylvan Street. The vehicle then flipped onto its side.
Upon arrival, officers found an injured teenage boy outside of the crashed vehicle. The boy was taken to Regions Hospital where he is in critical condition.
Investigators are attempting to determine who was driving the vehicle, why it crashed and how the teenage boy was involved.
More information will be released at a later time according to the police.
