Teen airlifted to hospital after Bemidji shooting

A 17-year-old was airlifted to a hospital after a shooting Tuesday night in Bemidji.

According to Bemidji Police, officers responded to the 2800 block of Ridgeway Avenue Northwest on a report of multiple gunshots inside a building at about 9:30 p.m.

Officers secured the area and searched the building but found nothing. A short time later, officers were notified that a teenage boy suffering from a gunshot wound was brought to a hospital by a private party.

The department said officers talked with the victim, who wasn’t able to describe the suspect. The victim was then flown to a Fargo trauma center where he remained in serious condition Wednesday.

An investigation into the shooting remains active. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 218-333-9111.
