Stolen vehicle crashes in Bloomington after pursuit
A pursuit of a stolen vehicle ended Sunday after the vehicle crashed on Interstate 35W in Bloomington.
The Rice County Sheriff’s Office said the Minnesota State Patrol initiated a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle out of Owatonna in Rice County, near mile marker 64, on northbound I-35. After initially stopping, the vehicle then fled.
Deputies with the sheriff’s office took over the pursuit before terminating the chase at 102nd Street in Bloomington after the vehicle started driving north on the interstate in the southbound lanes, according to the sheriff’s office.

A short time later, Bloomington Police and the State Patrol received a report of a crash at 82nd Street involving the stolen vehicle. The sheriff’s office said authorities responded and provided first aid until paramedics arrived.
It was unclear how serious the injuries from the crash were but they weren’t believed to be life-threatening, the State Patrol said.
The crash is now under investigation by the State Patrol.
The sheriff’s office said criminal charges against the driver of the stolen vehicle, identified as 27-year-old Dylan Edward Jackson, are pending out of Steele, Rice and Hennepin counties in connection to the incident.
