Stillwater police advise residents to not use lift bridge ‘as high dive platform’
The Stillwater Police Department is advising the public to not use the lift bridge as a high dive platform to jump off of, due to a recent report of such an occurrence.
According to the department’s Facebook page, they provided some other ideas regarding ways to stay cool as recent weather has been anything but that.
"…we’d like to take this opportunity to point out the obvious that there are any number of ways to beat the heat that are so much safer and way more legal than… say…. the recent report of people using the Lift Bridge as their own personal Red Bull Challenge High Dive platform. That IS just crazy," the post reads.
"Find a beach, a sprinkler, pool, air-conditioned hardware store, shade tree… other ideas? (anybody chime in)," the post goes on to say.
The police department concluded with possible signage being put up in the area, but added "we tend to believe that signs stating what should be obvious shouldn’t be necessary."
