Stillwater, consulting firm reviewing police department, seeking public input

The Stillwater Police Department is undergoing an organizational review and public input is being sought.

The department says the city and national consulting firm BerryDunn are looking at police operations, staffing and personnel deployments as part of the review. Additionally, staff, stakeholders and community input will be considered.

The public is invited to offer feedback at a community meeting at the police department’s training room from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on June 14. Feedback will also be able to be submitted online through a link that will be posted on the department’s website and social media channels.

Overall, the review is expected to take around five months.

Stillwater police said the purpose is to get recommendations about how to best guide the department in operational practices and shape how officers carry out the public safety mission.
