State Patrol looking for new troopers at fair
The Minnesota State Patrol is hoping to find some new troopers during the Great Minnesota Get-Together.
Like many agencies, the patrol is dealing with a staffing shortage.
In addition to education and demonstrations at the fair, troopers have been trying to get Minnesotans thinking about joining the patrol.
Officials say it’s not just troopers that are needed, but also team members for Capitol security, crash reconstruction, dispatch, the commercial vehicle section and others.
Monday, the patrol had K9s, old cars and several recruiters talking to visitors.
Anyone with interest in joining the patrol can learn more or apply online.
