2 women killed, 3 others injured after semi-truck tire hits SUV in St. Michael Saturday 

A crash on I-94 killed two women and wounded three others in St. Michael on Saturday, the Minnesota State Patrol (MSP) confirmed.

An MSP incident report states the crash happened just before 5 p.m. near the intersection with Highway 241. 

A semi-truck was westbound on I-94 when it lost two tires, one of which collided with the eastbound Nissan Rogue.

The driver of the Rogue, Viengkhone Nguyen, 44, of Brooklyn Park, died from her injuries after the crash, according to the report.

A passenger in the Rogue, Lea Khamphachanh, 43, of St. Cloud, also died after she sustained fatal injuries.

Three other people in the Rogue, a 28-year-old woman from Rice, a 45-year-old woman from St. Cloud and a 38-year-old woman from Sartell were taken to the hospital for injuries but are expected to survive. 

The driver of the semi-truck was not injured. 

No alcohol is believed to be involved and road conditions were dry at the time, according to the report.
