Stabbing leaves 1 dead in Minneapolis, suspect in custody

A man has died following a stabbing that happened in the Loring Park neighborhood area of Minneapolis Thursday morning.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, officers responded to the report of a stabbing around 6:14 a.m. on the 300 block of Oak Grove Street. There, police located a man suffering from what appeared to be straight-edge weapon wounds on an upper floor of the building.

Officers and firefighters performed emergency aid on the victim, who was immediately transported to Hennepin County Medical Center when paramedics arrived. The victim died at the hospital a short time later.

Police a short while later located a suspect and arrested him. He was transported to the homicide unit for an interview. A weapon was also recovered from the scene. Police did not indicate what the weapon was.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the victim along with the nature and cause of death in the days to come.

According to police, at 6:14 a.m., officers responded to a stabbing report on the 300 block of Oak Grove Street.

Once officers arrived, they found a man with no pulse. The victim was taken to the hospital, where police say he died.

Police have a suspect in custody in relation to the incident.
