St. Paul tobacco ordinance vote pushed to next week

A vote on a proposed tobacco ordinance in St. Paul has been pushed to next week.
The city council was set to pass the new measure Wednesday, but a technical error in the ordinance’s language has to be changed.
The ordinance would raise the minimum price for a pack of cigarettes and tins of chewing tobacco to $10.
It would also ban the sale of menthol tobacco products in liquor stores and would ban discounts and coupons for tobacco products.
Also under the proposed ordinance, fines for selling tobacco products to those under 21 would increase.
