St. Paul teen killed in rollover on I-35 identified

A St. Paul teenager died early Sunday morning following a crash in Steele County.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the 18-year-old was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu south on Interstate 35 in Clinton Falls Township at around 1:10 a.m. when she lost control of the vehicle near milepost No. 46.

The car drifted off the left side of the road, overcorrected and then entered the west ditch, rolling, the crash report says.

The lone person in the vehicle — identified as Amirah Imaani Strong — died from her injuries.

Authorities say Strong wasn’t wearing a seat belt at the time.

The crash remains under investigation.
