Woman hospitalized, man in custody following Frogtown shooting
UPDATE 9 a.m. – Police say a woman is in stable condition and a man is in custody following a shooting in St. Paul’s Frogtown neighborhood Wednesday evening.
According to St. Paul police, officers were called to the 700 block of Sherburne Avenue West for a report of a woman being shot in her home shortly before 8 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found a 39-year-old woman who had been shot three times, and began treating her injuries before she was taken to a hospital.
The suspect had left by the time officers arrived, however, he was found about an hour later on the 1200 block of St. Anthony Avenue. The man is identified as a 34-year-old from St. Paul, and is being held at the Ramsey County Jail.
Police say while formal charges are pending, the man faces aggravated assault with a weapon, felony burglary and gross misdemeanor fraud.
St. Paul police are still investigating how the man and woman know each other.
In addition, officers say they aren’t searching for any other suspects, and there isn’t any danger to the public.

INITIAL REPORT 6:55 a.m. – St. Paul police haven’t released any information regarding an ongoing investigation in the city’s Frogtown neighborhood.
Multiple police vehicles were near Sherburne Avenue and St. Alban’s Street North around 8 p.m. Wednesday.
