St. Paul police investigate theft at mosque

Police are investigating a case of theft at a St. Paul mosque.

According to the St. Paul Police Department, an officer responded to the Dawah Mosque along Fairview Avenue just after 3 p.m. Saturday for a reported burglary.

When the officer arrived, he spoke with a contractor who said the burglary happened earlier that morning. The officer noted evidence shows the suspect tried and failed to cut a lock on the property’s gate before gaining entry through a fence on the property.

The contractor told the officer more than a dozen power tools, surveillance equipment, HVAC equipment and keys were taken.

According to the St. Paul Police Department, the incident is under investigation and no arrests have yet been made as of early Monday.
