St. Paul Police Foundation hosts annual Blue Nite Gala, bids farewell to Chief Axtell

The St. Paul Police Foundation hosted its annual Blue Nite Gala Friday night. The foundation helps support the St. Paul Police Department (SPPD).
This year, the event honored outgoing Police Chief Todd Axtell, who is retiring next month. Axtell has been leading the department for six years.

The annual event both celebrates the achievements of St. Paul police and helps fund the St. Paul Police Foundation, which works to support the police department. The organization has provided more than $5 million in support to the SPPD since 2005.
