St. Paul man pleads guilty to charge stemming from alleged cellphone theft ring operation
Wednesday, a man who was among those charged for alleged involvement in a cellphone theft ring that preyed on people leaving bars in downtown Minneapolis pleaded guilty.
Alfonze Jamel Stuckey, 23, pleaded guilty to one count of racketeering during Wednesday’s hearing.
As previously reported, Stuckey was one of a dozen people charged for their alleged involvement in the ring, which operated from June 2021 through May 2022. All 12 people were charged with one count of racketeering.
Each of the suspects faces up to 20 years in prison, a fine of three times the gross value gained during the operation, as well as other costs.
Six of the 12 suspects are still wanted.

Three others — Heiron Birts, Charlie Pryor Jr. and Aaron Johnson — each have an omnibus hearing scheduled for the end of January. Fellow suspects Zhongshuang Su and Antonio Green have omnibus hearings scheduled for December.
Stuckey’s sentencing hearing has been scheduled for Dec. 20.
