St. Paul man indicted for shipping heroin to state correctional facility

A St. Paul man has been indicted by a federal grand jury after authorities say he tried to ship heroin into a Minnesota correctional facility.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says on April 12, 39-year-old Walter "Disney" Davis attempted to distribute a substance containing heroin by addressing it to one or more people at a state corrections facility.

Authorities say Davis also had a Smith & Wesson .38 Special revolver, a Rossi .357 Magnum revolver and over 100 grams of heroin on April 16. Due to prior felony convictions in Hennepin and Ramsey counties, he’s barred from having firearms or ammunition.

Davis is charged with one count of attempted distribution of a controlled substance, one count of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and two counts of firearm possession by a felon.
