Fire and rescue personnel rescued a man early Sunday morning after he was stuck about 100 feet above the ground in St. Paul.

According to the St. Paul Fire Department, officers responded to Fillmore Avenue East and Wabasha Street at about 1:25 a.m. Sunday when they found a man inside a cave on a cliff. The officers called for help from fire and emergency personnel.

The fire department said the man was rescued and medically evaluated, and then explained he had used a make-shift rope from his bag to climb down to the cave. However, when he attempted to climb back up, he noticed it was frayed and called for help.

No injuries were reported.
