St. Cloud man wanted for aggravated robbery with handgun arrested
A 22-year-old man is now in custody on charges relating to an aggravated robbery that happened on June 20.
The St. Cloud Police Department says on Sunday at about 2 a.m., the police department's SWAT team served a high-risk search warrant at a residence located on the 1100 block of 13th Street S. The warrant was served for a suspect wanted for aggravated robbery with a handgun from a burglary of a residence in northeast St. Cloud that happened on June 20.
The June 20 incident states at about 10:21 p.m., 22-year-old Deantae Demond Davis and another suspect identified as 26-year-old Shane Leigh Blenker, from St. Cloud, forced their way into an apartment in the 100 block of Fourth Street NE. Once they were inside, police say Davis assaulted a 51-year-old man from St. Cloud that was visiting the address by hitting him over the head with a handgun that Davis possessed. Davis then stole money from the man and fled the scene with Blenker.
The 40-year-old resident of the apartment was also present during the incident.
During a search of Davis' residence on Sunday, after two hours of searching, Davis was located in the attic of the building. He was taken into custody without incident and booked in Benton County Jail.
Police say Blenker was located on Saturday at about 2:45 p.m. in the Albany area and arrested. He has also been booked into Benton County Jail on related charges.
