St. Anthony police investigating shooting

St. Anthony police are asking for the public’s help with a shooting investigation.

According to police, officers were called to the 3400 block of Silver Lake Road just before 4 p.m. Tuesday on a report of shots coming from inside a vehicle.

When they arrived, witnesses told them two sedans were traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Silver Lake Road.

Witnesses then said the driver of the silver sedan, which was being followed by a blue sedan, attempted to make a left turn on the 3400 block. The blue sedan pulled up next to the silver sedan and a person inside the vehicle fired about three shots in the direction of the silver sedan.

Police said witnesses told them there were two or three people inside the blue sedan, which then headed south on Silver Lake Road.

Officials say the blue sedan may have pulled into Central Park, but when police arrived, the vehicle was gone.

After searching the area, police said no uninvolved persons were injured, and three bullet casings were found.

Police do not know if anyone inside the silver sedan was injured.

The silver sedan has not been found as of early Wednesday.

Police added there is no danger to the public in connection with this incident.

Anyone with information which may help police with their investigation is asked to call either the St. Anthony Police Department, at 612-782-3350, or Hennepin County Dispatch, at 952-258-5321.
