Student in custody after threat sends Redwood County school into lockdown
A student was taken into custody after a threat sent a Redwood County school into lockdown Tuesday morning.
The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office says it was notified of the social media threat against Red Rock Central School and staff at around 7:50 a.m.
Law enforcement responded and determined the threats weren’t credible, and Superintendent Todd Lee confirmed the lockdown was lifted before noon.
The sheriff’s office said a juvenile male student was taken into custody and charges are pending.
Lee said all students and staff are safe.
