They can brighten your day in every way. Fields of sunflowers are attracting people from across the country to a farm in Rush City.

About a million sunflowers bring thousands of visitors to Treasured Haven Farm every summer.

“It’s gotten a lot bigger than we ever thought it would be,” Peg Johnson said.

Sunflowers bloom for about a week to ten days, from the end of July through the middle of September. Sunflowers can help bring sunshine even on the darkest day.

“I call the sunflower; they’re like smiles, hugs and symbols everything is ok,” Johnson said. “I never knew how much this touched people’s hearts and when you hear those stories, it makes the long days worth it.”
