It's bright red and can be seen for miles.

The First National Bank sign in downtown St. Paul has been part of the city's skyline for nearly a century.

"This is the icon of downtown St. Paul," property manager Rick Rossi said. "I think you can see it for at least 20 miles on a good day."

The building was built in 1931 and the sign went up about a year later.

The sign was always red when it used neon lights, now with LED lights they can change the sign to different colors.

Many look at the sign as a part of Minnesota history.

"It's probably one of the more iconic pieces of the skyline in the Twin Cities," Rossi said.
