Small aircraft pilot unscathed after crash in Forest Lake

A pilot managed to escape uninjured after crashing a small aircraft Saturday afternoon in Forest Lake.
The aircraft crashed into a swampy area southeast of the intersection of Interstate 35 and Highway 8 around 3 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.
Forest Lake police officers and firefighters responded to the crash and found the pilot and lone occupant was not hurt.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
