Sioux Falls fair to go on as scheduled amid COVID-19 pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic has led officials to cancel or postpone many events across the country, but a fair that’s slated to start next weekend in Sioux Falls isn’t one of them.
The 81st annual Sioux Empire Fair is scheduled to run from Aug. 1 through Aug. 8.
The fair’s website says:
"The health and safety of our guests, participants and community is our priority. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place and any interaction with the general public poses an elevated risk of being exposed to COVID-19. By visiting the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed during your visit."
The South Dakota State Fair, which is scheduled to run from Sept. 3 through Sept. 7, is also still scheduled to take place, according to its website.
