Simulated emergencies planned in Fridley, Monticello on Tuesday

Simulated emergencies are planned for Tuesday in Fridley and Monticello.

Metro Transit is planning to do an accident simulation involving BNSF Railway and the Northstar commuter rail in Fridley on Tuesday. The drill will take place from 9 a.m. to noon.

Also on Tuesday, a nuclear incident drill will take place at the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant, according to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.

DPS said residents in the Monticello area might notice an increase of emergency responder vehicles from several agencies as they test their response to a possible incident at the nuclear plant.
