Simulated drill at Prairie Island Nuclear Plant scheduled for Tuesday

State and local officials will participate in a simulated drill near Red Wing Tuesday.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says the drill will take place at and around Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant.

Several agencies will participate to work toward an efficient and effective response in the event of an incident at a nuclear plant.

Residents of Dakota, Goodhue and Pierce (Wisconsin) counties shouldn’t be alarmed if they see activities near the plant.
