Shooting threat being investigated at Rochester’s Century High School

An investigation is ongoing in the Rochester school district after officials with Century High School say a threatening message was found in the building.

According to a message posted on the school’s website, the threat was found Thursday evening and threatened a school shooting on Saturday.

Due to the threat, the message says there are additional officers at the school Friday, as well as during the weekend’s homecoming events.

As of 10:45 a.m. Friday, homecoming events are happening as scheduled, however, the district says it will send out notifications if they are canceled.

In addition, the district says if a student leaves school for the day, they won’t be able to attend Friday’s dance.

Anyone who has information regarding the threatening message is asked to contact a trusted adult.
