Sheriff: Firework explodes in man’s face in Otter Tail County

A man is hospitalized after a firework blew up in his face over the Fourth of July, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said first responders were called Saturday at 11:16 p.m. on the report of an incident involving fireworks in rural Parker’s Prairie.

It was learned a man was trying to light a firework when it exploded in his face.

The man, who was identified as a 26-year-old from Henning, was taken to Alomere Health in Douglas County.

His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
