School bus carrying kids, truck collide north of Alexandria

A school bus carrying students collided with a pickup truck north of Alexandria Friday afternoon.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened just after 2 p.m. in Leaf Valley Township.

According to the sheriff’s office, the school bus was headed east on Gravel Pit Road Northwest and collided with a Nissan Frontier that was southbound on County Road 12.

Authorities say neither the driver of the school bus nor the 10 kids on board were injured. The driver of the Nissan had back and leg pain and was taken to a hospital.
