Sartell man arrested following Cass Co. cabin fire

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says one person is in custody after a cabin and vehicle were burned.

According to authorities, deputies and firefighters were called to a cabin on Peninsula Road in rural Outing just after 5:30 a.m. Monday.

When first responders arrived, they found a cabin and a full-size pickup on fire. They then went into a garage with living quarters and found a 37-year-old Sartell man inside. Authorities say he was then arrested, and formal charges are pending.

The sheriff’s office says its investigation so far shows the man doesn’t have any connection to the property. Authorities also add a search of the nearby lake showed the man spent some time on the lake.

In addition, authorities say they found another property the man may have been at.

As of this time, the cause of the fire hasn’t been released.

Both the cabin and the truck are considered to be a complete loss.
