Thousands of local families in need are shopping for Christmas gifts Wednesday at the Salvation Army’s annual Toy Shop.

This year, over 5,000 families are registered, meaning over 13,000 kids will wake up to toys on Christmas morning.

Salvation Army said it provided over 30,000 gifts.
