Salvation Army gets building donation to help fight homelessness

Two families are donating a building to help fight homelessness and poverty in St. Paul.

The Tareen and Walton families, who own Tareen Development Partners, Tareen Dermatology and Reuter Walton Development, are donating the Gallery Professional Building on West Exchange Street to the Salvation Army.

The families bought the building in 2021 and helped get a $1.5 million affordable housing grant from the county, officials say.

Additionally, they say the building donation is the largest single real estate donation to the Salvation Army’s Northern Division in all of 2022.
