‘Safe Travels, Minnesota’ Sun Country Airlines vaccine incentive program extended
People who have yet to be vaccinated against COVID-19 can still get their shot with an incentive, courtesy of the state of Minnesota and Sun Country Airlines.
A further extension was announced on Friday by Gov. Tim Walz for the "Safe Travels, Minnesota" vaccine incentive partnership with Sun Country Airlines. Minnesotans who get their Johnson & Johnson vaccine at the state’s vaccination clinic at MSP Airport’s Terminal 2 from Friday, Oct. 8 through Dec. 29 can enter into a weekly drawing for a $200 travel voucher through the airline. The program was initially launched in July.
"The vaccine is your non-stop flight to protecting your family from COVID-19," Walz said. "To slow the spread of COVID-19, all eligible Minnesotans should get this safe, free, and effective shot. That’s why we are continuing our partnership with Sun Country at Terminal 2 to meet Minnesotans where they are and help them get vaccinated as soon as possible."
This program is one of several incentives the state has launched to encourage Minnesotans to get vaccinated. On Sept. 16, Walz announced the launch of a new program offering $100 incentives for COVID-19 vaccines at community vaccination clinics around the state. Nearly 50 COVID-19 community coordinators, community clinics and federally qualified health centers are participating in the program.
