Robbinsdale man pleads guilty to murdering ex-girlfriend

A Robbinsdale man has pleaded guilty to killing his ex-girlfriend, who is also the mother of his child.

Forty-year-old Erik Paul Eggleston reached a plea agreement last week in which he pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree intentional murder in the death of 29-year-old Nigar Mammadzada.

Mammadzada’s mother found her daughter dead with multiple shotgun wounds when she came home from work on Nov. 12, 2020, according to a criminal complaint. Mammadzada’s mother told police she suspected Eggleston killed her daughter because they’d recently broken up, and Eggleston had the code to get into the garage.

His sentencing is scheduled for April 25.
