Red Wing family displaced by overnight house fire

The Red Cross is working to relocate a Red Wing family after a fire significantly damaged their home overnight, according to Fire Chief Mike Warner.

Firefighters went to the 2400 block of Sunny Meadow Lane around 1:15 a.m. Monday for a house fire that Warner says spread quickly due to high wind speeds.

Everyone evacuated the home, and responders got the fire under control within an hour and a half. The response took a total of five hours and 31 firefighters.

Firefighters also put out a grass fire that stemmed from the house fire.

No one was hurt.

At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown.

Multiple agencies assisted the Red Wing Fire Department.
