Red Rabbit reopens in North Loop after August fire
Nearly three full months after a kitchen fire forced it to close, Red Rabbit reopened its North Loop Minneapolis location on Tuesday.
The restaurant announced it was closing until further notice on Aug. 21 after its second kitchen fire in two years. Now, it’s back open and owner Luke Shimp is taking a light-hearted approach, with the restaurant serving several fire-themed specials for the rest of the month.

"We thought given the year we are all having we would have some fun and lighten the mood for employees and guests," said Shimp. "We are even giving out matchbooks to guests with the tagline "We’re Fired Up To Reopen!" for all dine-in or curbside pick-up orders."
Red Rabbit has also installed new heaters and plexiglass enclosures throughout its patio area to extend outdoor dining as winter arrives.
