Proof of vaccination or negative test result required at Basilica Block Party
The Basilica Block Party will take place this year after being canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Attendees will be required to provide a proof of vaccination or a negative test result within 72 hours to gain access to the event, organizers said in an update Friday.
The event, which will take place on Sept. 10 and 11, will go from 5 to 11 p.m. each night.
The latest policy has been implemented in an effort to create the safest possible environment for the community, and to protect the vulnerable, according to a release. In addition, face masks will not be required but are strongly encouraged. There will also be hand sanitizing stations available throughout the site.
Organizers are asking if anyone is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms to not attend the event.
The event is typically held in July, but was postponed to September this year. It has been held in Minneapolis since 1995, excluding 2020.
