Pounds of meth, marijuana found in Litchfield; 2 suspects in custody

Two people were arrested on Wednesday after authorities found roughly 11.6 pounds of methamphetamine, over 9 pounds of marijuana and over $72,000 inside their Litchfield home.

According to the CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force, a 33-year-old Litchfield man and a 36-year-old Litchfield woman are in custody in Meeker County Jail.

The task force said agents executed a narcotics search warrant at 600 block of Armstrong Avenue South residence, where they found the methamphetamine, marijuana and cash during the search.

According to the task force, the street value of the methamphetamine seized is estimated to be over $150,000.

The task force was initially called to the residence to assist agents with the Minnesota Department of Correction before making an application for the search warrant.
