Positive COVID-19 cases confirmed in Moorhead Fire Department

Multiple employees in the Moorhead Fire Department have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past week, according to a news release from Moorhead city officials.

The news release states that each employee that tested positive was barred from further contact with city employees and was told to self-isolate according to recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Anyone who might have been in close contact with those who tested positive has been notified, the city said.

Fire protection and emergency service operations should be able to operate without interruption, the city stated. All fire department teams were separated at the beginning of the pandemic to avoid overlap and to minimize contact.

The city did not say how many members of the fire department were affected, and the city is unable to share health care information on the employees due to data privacy laws.
