Political signs damaged, reported stolen in Kandiyohi County
On Wednesday, authorities in Kandiyohi County said they have been alerted about political yard signs being stolen and vandalized.
"We are reminding these vandals that, those who steal or damage political signs are committing a crime. If the signs are removed from private property, the crime also may include trespassing," a post by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook said, in part.
The sheriff’s office added those who participate in this crime are also violating the right to Freedom of Speech of those who wish to publically display their political preferences.
"Regardless of your political affiliation or which candidates you support, we urge everyone to please show respect for your neighbors and fellow citizens. Support your candidate but respect the rights of others to also support theirs!" Sheriff Eric Holien concluded the post with.
