Police: Standoff in South St. Paul ends, no threat to public

Police were at the scene of a standoff in South St. Paul early Friday morning.

The incident started at about 7 p.m. Thursday, near South Street and Carmen Avenue.

Police said they were trying to take an armed suspect into custody.

Law enforcement blocked off the area, but said there was no threat to the public.

The standoff ended at about 1 a.m.

Police are expected to release additional information later Friday.
