Police: Stabbing in St. Paul under investigation
Police are investigating an early-morning stabbing in St. Paul Thursday.
According to St. Paul police, at about 7:30 a.m., officers responded to an apartment building along Wayzata Street on a report of a stabbing.
When officers arrived, they saw a 25-year-old woman carrying a knife and exiting the apartment building. Though ordered to drop the knife, the woman refused, and officers deployed a Taser to disarm her, police said.
The woman was taken into custody without incident and was transported to Regions Hospital for evaluation.
Police said they then found a 50-year-old woman suffering from several apparent stab wounds to her abdomen at the apartment building. Medics transported the woman to Regions Hospital, where she underwent surgery and is currently listed as being "stable," police said.
Police said the 50-year-old woman is the mother of the 25-year-old woman.
The incident remains under investigation.
