Person taken into custody in Burnsville after hours-long standoff

Police say they have taken a person into custody after an hours-long standoff in Burnsville on Saturday.

At around 11:54 a.m., the Burnsville Police Department responded to the 12600 block of Chowen Bend for a domestic assault.

Burnsville police said they had multiple agencies working to take the subject into custody. Authorities asked the public to avoid the area as they handled the incident.

Around 6:15 p.m., police stated that they peacefully took a subject into custody and that officers would be clearing the area.
