Police respond to shots fired in Bloomington, pursuit ends in crash in Eagan

A police pursuit ended in a crash Thursday evening, sending occupants of an unrelated vehicle to the hospital.

A news release from the Bloomington Police Department says officers responded to a report of shots fired at a home near the intersection of 85th Street East and 2nd Avenue South around 7 p.m. on Thursday.

No one was hurt, but police said they located a vehicle fleeing the area and pursued it. The chase entered Eagan, and the suspect vehicle then struck another vehicle that was not involved in the incident. The crash occurred when the suspect vehicle exited the southbound lanes of Highway 77 and hit the other vehicle at Cliff Road.

According to the news release, two suspects, the driver and passenger, were taken into custody. Police say a firearm was recovered as well.

Two occupants of the unrelated vehicle that was struck were taken to the hospital for possible injuries.

The shooting incident is being investigated by the Bloomington Police Department, while the Eagan Police Department is assisting with the crash investigation.
