Police investigation underway in South Minneapolis

Squads could be seen at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and 18th Street shortly after midnight Tuesday morning.

Police say three people are hurt, one seriously, after a shooting early Tuesday morning in south Minneapolis.

A photographer got video of a large police presence at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and East 18th Street.

According to Minneapolis police, officers were called to the area at around 1:30 a.m. on a report of a shooting and found a 31-year-old man, 47-year-old man and 54-year-old woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

All three were taken to a hospital and police said the men suffered injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening while the woman’s injuries are potentially life-threatening.

Investigators believe the three victims were in or near a vehicle that had damage from gunfire when someone in another vehicle fired at them and then drove off.

The shooting remains under investigation and no arrests had been made as of Tuesday morning.
